CONNECTIVITY
CNW uses state-of-the-art communications such as fiber optic, wireless cables to connect its data centers together and to the Internet via points of presence. CNW provides access to the Internet ranging from standard Dial-Up services through Leased Lines to Business-Class DSL Services to Wireless communication. All of these access services benefit from connecting to high capacity, highly resilient backbone network and then to the Internet.

NATIONAL DIAL-UP
Sophisticated network infrastructure means that customers using dial-up services can be guaranteed a connection, first time, every time.

CNW’s dial-up service is monitored 24 hours a day, every day. The service supports both standard V.92 modem access and ISDN access. This lets customers take small steps when upgrading the speed with which they connect to the Internet. CNW allows customers to customize to their connectivity or services needs. Services are bundled turnkey solutions or a-la-carte.

Dial-up access permits 64k use only. Bonding of the line is not permitted. This service provides a single Internet access point and cannot be used to provide access across your network.

V.92 TECHNOLOGY
V.92 is the new dial-up modem specification from the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) that introduces three new features that will add convenience and performance for the modem user. The three features are quick connect, modem-on-hold and PCM Upstream.

QuickConnect shortens the time it takes to make a connection by remembering ("training") the phone line characteristics and storing them for later usage. Typically, the modem handshake (all that noise you hear) takes from 25 to 27 seconds. QuickConnect will cut the modem handshake time in half for most calls, a significant improvement.

PCM Upstream boosts the upstream data rates between the user and ISP to reduce upload times for large files and email attachments. PCM Upstream will work particularly well with new equipment such as Internet-connected digital cameras, which primarily upload rather than download information.

Modem on hold offers the ability to answer important calls while online but without disconnecting.

V.44 Improves upon the existing V.42bis standard by offering a larger compression ratio, allowing for faster packet flow. This means faster downloading speeds for the end user.

Dial-up modem connections are still the most popular way to use the Internet, out-numbering broadband users nearly seven-to-one. Besides being cost effective, they are more secure, too. The random IP addresses given to dial-up connections (as opposed to fixed addresses for cable) offer a significantly greater amount of protection against hackers.

If you are interested in utilizing the V.92 technology, please Contact CNW for more information.

VPN (VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK)
Organizations looking to provide access to core internal data and systems to branch offices, end users and on the road users can find the process of building a private network to allow such access an expensive and time consuming process.

Secure VPN solutions offer a way to leverage the Internet to provide remote access to mission critical data and systems without compromising security.

Using the latest Cisco technology CNW can work with your organization to develop a tailored VPN access solution dependent on your individual needs.

For instance you may have two offices geographically remote from each other and find the cost of a private link too expensive. Taking a connectivity and firewall solution for both sites from CNW would allow you to connect both sites over a secure IPSEC tunnel firewall to firewall as if they were directly connected.

Virtual Private Networking allows customers to:
Provide secure access to corporate networks
Securely communicate with branch offices
Establish encrypted communications with external organizations such as customers, business partners and suppliers

lternatively, you may have a variety of sites and users who need to access the intranet. These branch sites and remote users may be using a variety of access mediums to connect to the Internet.

CNW can work with you to help you provide secure access for all types of remote user, using a combination of Secure VPN Client software, and Cisco Security Hardware.

BLEC (BUILDING LOCAL EXCHANGE CARRIER)
CNW’s BLEC, Building Local Exchange Carrier, services have a major advantage over traditional carriers. We are concerned exclusively with bringing data and voice services to office towers, industrial parks, hotels and apartment complexes. While CLECs and ILECs focus on building out broadband networks that terminate at the edges of buildings, CNW’s BLEC services concentrate on running broadband inside buildings. Our goal as a BLEC is to create an in-building broadband network.

CNW will partner with a real estate manager to bring added value to buildings. The managers can use the managed broadband services as a selling point. There are several potential advantages CNW’s BLEC services can bring to building owners and their tenants such as BLEC-installed broadband network, building owners can market managed high speed Internet ready office space to tenants with turnkey value-added data services such as e-mail, Virtual Domain Hosting and international DialUp access "A total business IT solution without the expensive costs". Businesses that stand to gain the most are those located in office complexes that are too far from a Telco central office to get DSL service and too remote to be passed by a cable provider's network. Most of these businesses are small and midsize organizations, or branch offices of larger companies, and can't justify several thousand dollars per month for a T1.

BLEC SERVICE ADVANTAGE
One not-so-obvious potential benefit that CNW’s BLEC services can offer building tenants is superior service. While out-of-building ILECs and CLECs can take weeks to provision new services for tenants, CNW can often provision the same service in days because they already have most of the equipment they need on hand in the building. Another advantage is that CNW will bill each tenant individually so the property manager does not have to worry about billing.
